On the heels of his successful greatest hits collection, The Best Of Andrea Bocelli Vivere, comes the release of a special live DVD, Vivere: Andrea Bocelli Live In Tuscany. The superstar staged his first-ever, pop only, live concert in July 2007 on the stunning slopes of Lajatico, a rural village in Tuscanywhere Andrea was raised. A special theater was constructed for this amazing one-night only concert featuring some of his most popular songs as well as new material to honor the occasion. This once in a lifetime event was taped as part of PBS's Great Performance and aired in December, once again proving Andrea's wild popularity with the network and its viewers.
Several of Bocelli's friends joined him in force resulting in an amazing star-studded evening including Sarah Brightman on their smash-hit Time To Say Goodbye" and Canto Della Terra," while Heather Headley reprised the popular Vivo Per Lei." Legendary musician, songwriter and producer, David Foster was also on board, and produced several new tracks including a duet with trumpeter Chris Botti on Italia" and Io Ci Saró" featuring piano virtuoso Lang Lang. More duets include appearances by grandissimo sassofonista" Kenny G, Italian pop star Eliza and Latin singing sensation Laura Pausini on Dare to Live (Vivere)." To add even more romance to the collection, Bocelli performed a medley of songs from his 2006 mega-hit, Amore: Bésame Mucho," Somos Novios" (It's Impossible") and I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" of which David Foster mused; It's so strange to be in your home, where you grew up, and you're singing an Elvis Presley song!"
The concert was directed by Emmy Award-winner David Horn, with Horn and Filippo Sugar on as executive producers. Andrea is a unique artist who manages a dual career in the world of both classical and popular music," stated Horn, who oversaw the singer's breakthrough telecast, Romanza in Concert, in 1997 and the four that followed. What a delight to hear him finally perform all the pop songs so loved by millions in one program."
