Stories of the Police in Rhodesia by various authors from the 80-year history of the British South Africa Police (BSAP). The beginning of the British South Africa Police came on 15th August, 1885, at Barkly West (near Kimberley) when enrolment commenced for what was named the Bechuanaland Border Police. Throughout the 150,333 square-mile area of beautiful wilderness which makes up the country, it became possible for any man to travel at will without fear.
