The most stunning 65 km drive imaginable over the rugged Outiniqua mountains, via Die Vlug into the outskirts of Knysna and part of the spectucular forest. A 2.5 hour drive of absolute note. Do it at around 4 pm onward from the Uniondale side to catch the indescribable hues and tones of the forests and mountains as the setting sun bathes everything breathtakingly in shadows - as one climbs into the mountains and sort of then keep up with the setting sun and its's golden highlights and purple/green undertones and shadows. Have done it 5 times already in 2 years and cannot wait for next time: so many little turnoffs into the wild, streams and forgotten little dwellings of yesteryear. Oh: how I cannot tolerate the City... One just simply camp and make a little fire. And the forest peopletjies (the few that are left) come and say hi stranger...
