British Pattern 1907 Lee Enfield Sword Bayonet " SAP " Issued
This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3* , better known as the SMLE. The stamped details on the ricasso show a date of 8 '17 under the Royal Cypher, 1907 for the Pattern, and Sanderson as the manufacturer. The other side shows only other inspection and broad arrow marks, bend test and a reissue mark for 1928. The blade is in very good condition, unsharpened with good tip. Both wooden grips are complete and undamaged bearing an SAP mark, and good release button. The oval-stud scabbard is undamaged, and unbent! all stitching intact to the leather there are also marks on the leather however they are not easily decipherable. the locket bears a mark for Royal Arms Factory, Enfield.
