A magnificent gemstone – an extraordinary journey...
We have sourced a supply of the finest natural Kunzite from the Patroke Mine, in the Kunar Valley of Northeastern Afghanistan. No mean feat considering the instability of the area.

The material was cut for HPJ in Pakistan to our specific instructions. From Pakistan it travelled to South Africa, and to this page - quite some journey !

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a truly spectacular and utterly unique gemstone.

Patroke Kunzite is highly prized on the international gem markets. Named for its mine, Patroke Kunzite (pronounced: Pa-Tro-Kee) hails from the Kunar Valley in Afghanistan's Kunar Province. The primary geographic features of the Province are the Hindu Kush mountains, and the Kunar River, which flows through the Valley.

The renowned Brazilian gem hunter and lapidary, Tony Diniz is the person responsible for first sourcing Patroke Kunzite while on adventures in Afghanistan's Kunar Valley in 2007.
