Vegetable glycerin (VG) is also known as vegetable glycerol. It is a carbohydrate that is derived from plant oils. It is used as a sweetener and as an ingredient in a number of products and also of course in eliquids.
Glycerine is classified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as ¿generally recognized as safe¿ (GRAS) and complies with specifications for the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur. or EP) E244. It is manufactured according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and is shipped according to applicable Good Trade and Distribution Practices (GTDP).
We hold a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) / Certificate of Analysis for this product. This is available upon request as a PDF file, also all our products come with appropriate labelling. No responsibility can be accepted for any consequences of its use or misuse.
Most e-smokers use a blend of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol. PG/VG Ratios for eliquid mixing and other variables can be set using Ejuice Me Up Calculator for Windows Platforms. A PG/VG Ratio of 50/50 is recommended to start with but depends on your device type. Subohm vapers will normally use 40/60 PG/VG or 30/70 depending on amount of vapor clouds and taste preferred. More PG will ensure more flavor since it transports the flavor better than VG.
Vegetable glycerin based E-liquids usually contain at least 80% and as much as 92% Vegetable glycerin. This is the ingredient that produces the smoke like vapor when the personal vaporizer is exhaled. Approximately 20% of all e-liquids on the market today are vegetable glycerin based. Vegetable glycerin typically produces more vapor production than propylene glycol, but has reduced throat hit and flavor transport. It is also slightly more viscous (thicker) and slightly sweeter then propylene glycol.
Vegetable glycerin comes in USP / BP grade and food grade. We sell only USP grade (99.5+% pure) vegetable glycerin.
