ELEGANT VINTAGE 0,34 carat AMETHYST 9ct GOLD RING.
This is a beautiful vintage 9ct gold ring set with an oval cut amethyst. The transparent deep purple colour of the amethyst gemstone plays perfectly against the yellow gold bezel setting. The shank of the ring is split, and separates before connecting to the ring head. I bought the piece from an antique outlet in London. You can just about make out the hallmarks but they are so worn, I can't identify the story behind this ring. Its design - and source - indicates its English 1940's. Its a very simple elegant piece.
