You are bidding on the Death Plaque and WWI War Medal and British Victory Medal (uni-lingual) of Private Francis Smith.
Francis Smith was born to Mr and Mrs W.J. Smith of 3 Londesbro Road, Market Weighton, York.
Private F. Smith attested to the 10th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment.
He was killed in action in France and Flanders on the 6th of August 1916.
He is buried in the Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery in Suchez.
Both his medals are correctly inscribed " 21762 PTE F. SMITH E. YORK. R. ".
Both medals are in near perfect condition and are still on their original ribbons.
