A very rare presentation / complimentary biscuit barrel made by the famous factory of S.Fielding & Co (later CROWN DEVON) for the PEEK FREANE company (biscuit manufacturers).
Metal rim trim with handle and lid.

Base marks:

"WITH / PEEK. FREAN & Co's / COMPLIMENTS"

&

CROWNED " S.F.& Co / ENGLAND"

early 20thC
115 mm diameter at top.
140 mm height


CONDITION:
Body of the barrel is fine with usage marking to base rim.
The trim, handle and lid have lost most of the silver plating and have a brassy appearance.
The carrying handle has torn away from its attaching rivet.
There are small tears to the metal of the rim just by both of the rivets
