The first quarter of this DVD is of the Kroonstad - Bloemfontein line filmed in August 1975. We start by following Class 23 number 2561 at the head of the Drakensberg Express from Kroonstad to Bloemfontein. We then watch Class 23's, 25NC's and 15F's working both freight and passenger trains on this section of line. There are two short scenes of a Class 25 Condenser at the head of a freight near Bloemfontein. The second quarter is of the this same section but filmed 4 month later in December 1975. Also starts off by following Class 23 number 2651 again at the head of the Drakensberg Express. We spend a bit of time watching the passing parade of super power on the Karee Bank. The second half was filmed in July 1983 on the Bethlehem - Bloemfontein line. This must have been some special weekend as in some scenes you can see other photographers catching the action. We concentrate mainly on the daily passenger workings with a short break to follow 19D's on the Winburg - Theunissen and Modderpoort - Ladybrand branch lines.Viewing Time: 1 hour 40 minutesPrice includes track and trace postage to South African addresses. The DVD will be posted to you within 10 days of receipt of payment. We will replace any faulty DVD with another of the same title upon receipt of the faulty DVD from the buyer. This DVD has been converted from Super 8 colour film with full dual track sound and commentary. This very rare film has been stored in a dark dry container for the past 30 or so years. It is still in mint condition and has only been brought out lately to make this DVD.The colour, clarity and sound quality is exceptional for 30 odd year old films. We have taken the greatest possible care to ensure that the conversion process from film to DVD was carried out with the least possible reduction in colour, clarity and sound quality. There are not many, if any, people that possess such a well documented record of such a wide range of motive power from the South African Railways of the past. These are not Hollywood productions so do not expect perfection. They are home made movies taken by one man who had the foresight to put what he saw and heard onto celluloid so that future generations could enjoy what he enjoyed most, watching and listening to South African steam trains in action. You will come across the odd shaky or out of focus scene but we have left these in for the sake of continuity. We trust that by having done this it will not affect your enjoyment. For those of you old enough to remember, enjoy watching and hearing what you used to see. For those of you too young to remember, enjoy watching and hearing what used to be
