Hi - I have an Ipod Touch 3rd Generation. I want to find out whether this works on FM and AM? Also, do you have to plug it in the car to work? Or does it take its battery from the Ipod? Does it drain a lot from the Ipod? Finally, what is the distance in terms of frequency between the device and the radio before it goes out of range or crackly. I am sorry if it is so many questions, but I recently bought one for some ridiculous price and it requires charge from a car, and then it doesn't connect properly so I just want to make sure I am getting the right one. It works on FM. You can set it to a few different empty channels. It gets power directly from the iPod/iPhone so there's no need to plug it into anything. It goes a few metres. If for any reason it doesn't function 100%, you can return it within 7 days
