Hi Johan. This is a low cost unit and that means it's without all the bells and whistles. I've never used it myself, but we've sold a lot of them and never had a come back. If you keep to the instructions and take good care of it, you should be fine. The 1mm tip should also be fine for the work you do, but if you later need a finer tip, you could buy the 0.8mm from us. Thanks.

Hi. No there's no indicator. Only the more expensive stations got a LED for that purpose.
