Banana Melon is an heirloom that can be traced back to 1885. Banana melon produces a fruit that is long (18"-20") and shaped like a torpedo unlike normal melons. Fruit can weigh in excess of 2kgs. It has blue-grey skin that turns yellow as it matures. Banana melons are smooth and have a sweet spicy flavour with salmon pink flesh. A good late maturing melon that can withstand the sun. |
