Hi, here is some info on 5 squadron I unfortunatly dont have any badges at the moment.. Formed in Cape Town in 1939, disbanded after 8 months and then reformed at AFB Swartko. It then redeployed to Egypt in 1941 with Tomahawks and then Kittyhawks. Thereafter 5 squadron went to Malta, Sicily and Italy. It also flew missions over Yugoslavia. 5 Squadron was disbanded at the end of the war. In 1950 it was reformed in Duban with Harvards and in 1973 recieved Impalas. Later it was disbanded but reformed at AFB Louis Trichardt with Cheetahs.
