This ancient late Roman / Byzantine period ring is still in excellent condition considering that it is over 1000 years old. The ring has a nice patina and still has some original earth deposits. The bezel depicts a possible inscription of the sun or a sun flower which was often depicted on jewelry during that period.
The ancient artifacts in my listings are 100% genuine and have been in my personal collection for many years. They were originally purchased from a reputable overseas antiquity collector. If you intend wearing the ring, it is possible to have it cleaned and polished by a jeweler to its original beautiful gold colour.
These artifacts are usually discovered by metal detectors on ancient sites or battle grounds.
Please feel free to ask any questions relating to this artifact before bidding or purchasing.
