 The Colt M733 Commando is one of the most famous truncated models of the Colt M16 series rifles in the world. This model is notorious for its short body and light weight which was designed primarily for special forces in both formal and informal battle situations.

 The Colt Automatic Rifle-15 Military Weapons System or CAR-15 was a family of rifles based on the M16 rifle. Due to their compact size and short barrel The Colt Commando continued to be issued to U.S. forces after the Vietnam war.

The "Colt Commando" specifically refers to the ultra-short 11.5-inch barrel of the Model 733 series which is comparably shorter than the M4 Carbine which has a 14.5-inch barrel and the M16 with its 20-inch barrel.
