Vintage South African Police tunic and waistcoat - 1986. This old tunic has a tag on the inside which reads "Durban Clothing MNFRS, Size 10, 1986, C/No 3603, A Police Tunic". It has brass coated front, pocket, sleeve and collar buttons featuring the pre-1995 emblem of the South African Police (SAP). This has the 1930 version of the national coat-of-arms (a heraldic shield with various symbols supported by a springbok and an oryx) centered within a circle on an eight-pointed sunburst badge design. The circle has the words “SUID-AFRIKAANSE POLISIE” around the top half and “SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE” around the lower half. It has all the buttons, and the tunic and waistcoat are in very good condition. Great buy for the collector.
