This Scalextric Sauber Mercedes C9/88 in AEG livery represents the car in which Jean Louis Schlesser, Jean Pierre Jabouille and Alain Cudini finished 5th at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989. This car reached 248.0 mph (400 km/h) during the qualifying sessions of the race - the second fastest speed ever down the Mulsanne straight.
This car has mechanically refurbished and also has been fitted with better rims and new tyres (Subaru Impreza 5-spoke white rims), bringing about a distinct improvement in both the looks and performance of this car. A stronger magnet and new braids complete the package, and the car runs and handles very well indeed.
