THE ORIGINAL SIGNATURE (WITH A DATE AND INSCRIPTION) OF BRITISH WWII AIR ACE DOUGLAS BADER (1910 - 1982) ON A SHEET OF HIS PERSONAL NOTE PAPER. THE WRITING ON THE NOTE READS: 'SORRY NO PHOTOGRAPH. BEST WISHES (SIGNED) DOUGLAS BADER. 14.12.81' THE SHEET OF HIS PERSONAL NOTEPAPER IS 12 x 10.5 cm IN SIZE.
THE NOTE ON OFFER HERE WAS SIGNED A YEAR BEFORE HIS DEATH IN 1982. DOUGLAS BADER LOST BOTH HIS LEGS IN A CRASH LANDING IN 1931. DURING WWII HE FLEW HAWKER HURRICANE AND SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE FIGHTERS AND IS CREDITED WITH 22 'KILLS'. IN 1954 THE AUTHOR PAUL BRICKHILL WROTE THE BOOK 'REACH FOR THE SKY' (WHICH WAS ALSO FILMED) ABOUT HIS LIFE.
