BLUE TOPAZ 925 STERLING SILVER RING. HEAVY RING 4,7g. BROAD FILIGREE BAND

 

Here's a ring with something of a different design! The central stone is a pale blue topaz - it's a big stone, 3,4 carats in total. The design presents the topaz as a solitaire but with an interesting eye on design, the jeweller has added four gemstones into the intricate detail of the shoulder. The lacy filigree decorations on the shank give the ring a timeless olde worlde feel. The central topaz is a soft sky blue in colour. Well faceted and a big stone, with a softness to its clarity. The other four gemstones are a brighter blue. At the time of buying, I was told they were blue diamonds. Gemstones they are but I don't think diamonds! The ring head is high to accommodate the depth of the stone. It reaches 8mm above the finger. Two hearts have been crafted into the detail on either side of the raised portion. It is a pretty colour combination of gentle blue and silver ... and I like that it is a weighty solid piece of jewellery.

This ring bears the hallmarks 'karis', and 925 for sterling silver.
