Book Condition:  Overall good for it's age. Internally, generally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. The top edge is green and the side and bottom edges are rough cut.Dark blue cloth binding with paper label to the spine (please refer to image of book, which is the actual image of the book on offer).

The Journal of a Disappointed Man by W. N. P. Barbellion. With a 4 page introduction by H.G. Wells. Wilhelm Nero Pilate Barbellion was the non-de-plume of Bruce Fredrick Cummings (1889 - 1919), an English diarist who was responsible for the Journal of a Disappointed Man. Ronald Blythe called it among the most moving diaries ever created.

What makes this book really special is that it was once a book in South African author, Eugene Marais's library and bears his signature in pencil on the front free end paper.
