USB function is great, I load avi & divx movies on the memory stick, watch them and delete them, saves $$$ on dvd's. No its only the dvd player. I presume the speaker is the speaker that it has on-board. I just wrote down what was written on the box. I bought this item for R800/R900 a month ago and never used because I got a blue-ray dvd player as a present which means the box is still closed. Thanks
