RUE
Rue is an evergreen shrub with an upright, rounded form and cool, ferny blue-green foliage. Clusters of cup-shaped, four-petaled yellow flowers appear in summer.
Care: Grow in moderately fertile, very well-drained soil. Thrives in hot, dry sites.
The scientific name of the plant commonly called the rue is Ruta graveolens.
It has been used for various reasons throughout the ages, ranging from its effect as an abortifacient, antispasmodic treatment of smooth muscles, vermifuge, relief of dizziness, fever, headaches, stomach as well as a cure for inner ear problems.
