CONTEMPORARY CHANNEL SET DIAMOND AND RUBY RING
9ct YELLOW GOLD. BIRMINGHAM ASSAY.
Great on it's own or as a stacking ring, this piece has a striking colour combination - the white of the diamonds, the deep pink of the rubies and the strong yellow of the 9ct yellow gold makes it eye-catching and elegant. It weighs 2,5 grams and has a very solid feel to it, with quite a hefty gold shank. The channel-set gemstones - 4 x 1,2mm round-cut diamonds interspersed with 5 x 1mm round-cut deep pink rubies - sit smoothly within the 9ct yellow gold band. The hallmarks indicate the 375 for 9ct gold and the Birmingham Assay. I am not sure of the date but it has a particularly good jeweller pedigree. The jeweller Shipton & Co have been making jewellery since 1870.
