The aim of this book is to empower stock owners by providing detailed information on animal diseases and livestock farming. It is in no way intended to be a replacement for veterinary assistance with respect to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases since no book can replace that service. In the same vein, the book cannot make exact recommendations on parasite control or vaccination because each farm has its own conditions. The programmes given are general guidelines and should be used in conjunction with advice from a local veterinarian.
