VINTAGE WIDE GARNET AND MARCASITE
STERLING SILVER RING. 925. A HEAVY 8.6g!
This striking art deco garnet and marcasite ring is set in solid sterling silver. The centre of the ring head is raised and adorned with a marquise cut bezel set garnet. The garnet is raised and presented by a frame of silver studded marcasites cascading all the way around. Follow the ring around and you get a nice thick shank of solid sterling silver making the ring very comfortable to wear. The rows of marcasites are set between thin silver raised rope lines, giving the layout of the ring head a 'sunray' look. The ring head is large (it stretches 19mm up the finger) and is raised 6mm above the finger. Weighing in at 8,6 grams, it's a substantial piece of jewellery! All marcasites present and correct and firmly in place. It's a really unusual and gorgeous piece of vintage jewellery! The ring bears the hallmarks '925' for sterling silver and the jeweller's signature.
The garnet is the birthstone for the month of January. Garnet is also thought to inspire love and devotion, as well as bestow self confidence. Marcasite inspires relaxation, reflection, spiritual development, focus and clarity!
