ANTIQUE HALL MARKED SILVER FOR 1881, CHATELAIN SPECTACLE CASE WITH CLIP AND CHAINS. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS ITEM AND HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE FIRM OF J.G.PIDDINGTON STARTED A SHIPPING AND FORWARDING BUSINESS IN 1849, MANY OF THEIR DECORATIVE ITEMS WERE OF GERMAN ORIGIN, THIS SPECTACLE CASE HAS A HALF FLOWER MARK AMONGST OTHERS.....THIS MARK WAS USED BY LUDWIG NERESHEIMER & CO OF HANAU, GERMANY. THE CASE IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH A COUPLE OF MINOR DENTS TO THE BACK, AND NEEDS A CONNECTING CHAIN LINK TO THE TOP OF THE CHAINS ONTO THE CLIP, IT WEIGHS 117gr, LENGTH 18cm, WIDTH 5cm. THERE ARE NO SPLITS TO THE SEAMS.
