Here we have an extremely rare and distinct piece of SADF Special Forces (Recce) bush-war history militaria!
A plastic 2-piece olive green (matt) tub with "black-is-beautiful" camo cream inside, still moist and usable after all these years!
Guaranteed original (provenance of this particular item will be shared with the auction winner).
During the bush-war white soldiers especially when working with units mostly comprised of black soldiers would camo themselves to appear "black" (from a distance at least). The following pictures show the use of the "black-is-beautiful" camo cream during training and operations.
and;
Black-is-beautiful camo cream would also have been used to camo white SF operators during missions deep behind enemy lines as well as on some pseudo ops.
A field improvised alternative was to use the soot in the exhaust pipes of diesel trucks ...............
