An original acrylic painting (45 x 35cm), framed, by Lienkie Lombard (1949 -) an established and well known South African artist.

Lienkie was born in Pretoria in 1949 and is the daughter of the late Dr. Jan Richter.  She was raised in the Western Transvaal and in 1971 she obtained her BA degreee in Art at the University of Pretoria.  Shortly after she married Nico Lombard.

Lienkie's subject matter ranges from the bushveld, animals and birds to people.  She experimented with different mediums as well - starting with watercolour and moving on to acrylic, oil and other mixed media.

The one thing however that inspired her most was drawings of children.  Lienkie is well known for her figures of children and she loves portraying them in in almost lost romanticism - playing guitar, catching fish, lying on the grass etc.

Lienkie has a timeless effect that she creates in her artwork that captures the heart of the viewer immediately.
