Medieval Henry VII Silver half-groat 1457-1509 Ref. 53MY

The 'War of the Roses' which took place in England, were really a number of sporadic dynastic wars between the supporters of Richard III, the last Yorkist King, whose heraldic emblem was a White Rose, and Henry Tudor, a relatively obscure claimant for the crown, from the House of Lancaster, having a Red Rose as his emblem. Henry believed, that he should become king, due to his heritage ties through his mother, Margaret Beaufort, who was a descendant (though possibly illegitimate) of Edward III. It was only during the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485 that King Richard III was killed and Henry Tudor proclaimed himself King Henry VII. Henry eventually married Edward IV's daughter which united the two houses to some degree, and the House of Tudor subsequently ruled both England and Wales for the next 117 years. Henry's policy was to maintain peace and create a strong economy, both of which he did with fair success. He concluded treaties with France and Spain, and, eventually, the Treaty of Perpetual Peace with Scotland.  He was succeeded by his son, Henry VIII.
The coin shown above,  was found by metal detecting in Britain. It is in very nice condition considering the age, with a clear portrait, clear inscriptions and measures
roughly 19 mm in diameter with a weight of 1.49 grams
This is a hammered coin. Hammered coins were produced by placing a thin sheet of metal, either gold, silver or copper, between two dies, and striking the top die as to create an image on each side.  Because of this method, it was difficult to produce coins of a regular diameter, and, often coins were clipped. Slivers of the coins were removed by unscrupulous traders and the metal eventually re-sold.
This is a genuine antique. Please remember the classification of an 'antique' is that it should be 100 years old, OR MORE. There are many articles being offered as 'antiques' when, clearly, they are not.
Please note - I am NOT a numismatist, but, from my research, I believe this coin is dated  and identified correctly. My apologies, if I am wrong.
