LARGE GREEN TOURMALINE AND WHITE TOPAZ CLUSTER
YELLOW GOLD RING 375. BIRMINGHAM ASSAY!
This bold and striking large cluster ring is a really pretty piece that stretches right across the finger in a glorious sparkling display. The ring has been set with a single 3 mm round cut bezel set white topaz that is surrounded by 6 x oval cut prong set moss green tourmaline gemstones, and an additional extra oval cut tourmaline gemstone extending onto the shoulders. They vary slightly in size. Together the tourmalines total 1,8 carats. The stones all have excellent quality and sparkle and the combination of darkish almost metallic green with the white topaz contrast well with the yellow of the 9 carat gold. The gemstones have been tested for authenticity. Follow the ring round and you get a good thick shank which indicates a quality design and is good for durability and comfort. The ring is quite raised, sitting 6mm high above the finger. Weighing in at 4,4g, it's an unusual piece of English jewellery.
This ring bears the hallmarks '375' for 9ct gold, the Birmingham Assay stamp, the jeweller's signature, and the date stamp for 2006. I carried the piece back from a personal collection obtained in the jewellery quarter of the Midlands in England.
