HPJ do it again, bringing you one of the rarest members of the wonderful Garnet family – a Lindi Garnet, from Tanzania.

Nesosilicate Insular SiO4 Groups Only
Mn++3Al2(SiO4)3

The ‘Lindi Garnet’ is a new orange-red garnet from Tanzania. It is noted that the crystals, which were displayed by Steve Ulatowski at the Tucson gem shows, were mined from an area in Lindi Province. Among the properties yielded by the cut stone were transparent diaphaneity and inert to both long- and short-wave ultraviolet radiation fluorescence. Pinpoint inclusions, short needles and straight transparent growth lines were revealed by microscopic examination.

This ultra rare specimen was cut in Europe (Germany) exclusively for Hillcrest Precious Jewels by Master Cutter, Sven.
