Dino Paravano was born in Rome, Italy, in 1935.

He immigrated with his family to   South Africa in 1947. He started painting at an early age, tutored and encouraged by his father an amateur-artist. He received a fine art Diploma from the “Institute of Fine Arts” in Rome.  To  further  his  studies  Dino  attended  the  Johannesburg   College  of Art and he traveled  to  Europe  on study tours. In 1992 Dino emigrated from South Africa to the US.  They live in Tucson, Arizona. Dino held 15, one-man exhibitions in South Africa’s major cities, plus New York City, London, England and Fairfax Virginia.

 In 1970 a painting commissioned by the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) was presented to the South African State President, J. Fouche`, at a banquet. Apart from the 15 solo exhibitions, to date Dino has participated in over 300 group exhibitions in major centers in South Africa, England, Italy, Australia, US, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Japan and China, Dubai, and Hong Kong.  

He is famous for his masterly portrayals of South Africa's sun-drenched landscapes, ocean scenes and wildlife. Paravano’s works are included in the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum permanent collection.  The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, permanent collection.  Bennington Center for the Arts permanent collection. The Wildlife Experience Museum. Further works are in collections of:  Raymond James Financial, collection.  Nedbank collections in: London, Hong Kong, and Johannesburg.  The Standard Bank, Barclays Bank (First National Bank), Wesbank - South Africa.  South African Permanent Building Society, United Building Society, The South African Reserve Bank, Total Oil-South Africa, South African Broadcasting Corporation, The Hamilton Memorial Library at Skukuza in the Kruger National Park, Mala Mala Game Reserve.

 

The painting is unframed and measures 61 by 46cm. The condition of the painting is very good.

I had the painting independently valued by 5th Avenue Auctioneers and they valued the painting for replacement at value of 25000.00.

SHIPPING AND INSURANCE

Both shipping and insurance will be for the buyer's account. The painting can be fetched from Port Elizabeth at no charge or couriered to you using your choice of courier. You can choose whether or not you wish to insure the painting. I typically use Postnet using their service whereby they deliver to your nearest Postnet. They will charge about a hundred rand and are very reliable, usually delivering within 3 working days.
