Please take a look at the second picture and note that the power cables plug points are bent - IT DOES WORK 100%, I have owned this HDD since it first came onto the market.
(for anybody that would like to know why it is bent: I had attached a "permanent" adaptor to it to make it work as a standard 3 prong plug, it got bent in the process of removing the adaptor since the adaptors are not meant to be removed.
