BRINJAL (EGG FRUIT, AUBERGINE) LONG PURPLE
THE FRUIT OF THE LONG PURPLE IS AN OBLONG SLENDER LONG SHAPE. THEY ARE DARK PURPLE IN COLOUR. A GREAT ADDITION TO ANY GARDEN OR CAN BE GROWN VERY SUCCCESSFULLY IN CONTAINERS (SEE OUR PLASTIC SEEDLING TRAYS). THEY NEED A WARM TEMPERATURE, PREFERABLY ABOVE 25 DEGREES FOR THEIR GROWING SEASON. SEEDS WILL NOT GERMINATE UNLESS THE SOIL IS WARM AND THE AIR TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 20 DEGREES. THEY LIKE WELL DRAINED SOIL THAT HAS BEEN ENRICHED WITH COMPOST AND MANURE.
