Discreet itemThis flat-top wooden steamer trunk is about 100 years old. It measures 88cm wide, 45cm long, and 31cm deep. The jute-like material on the outside has been painted, but can be stripped to reveal the wood underneath. Likewise, the paper inside can be stripped to show the wood. The metal has been painted black at some stage, but this too can be easily removed to restore the original metal if preferred. That said, the kist is beautiful as is - a real eye catcher.
Please look at the photographs carefully. The trunk is not without damage, but shows normal usage and wear. Considering its age, the trunk is still remarkably intact - there is no problem with opening and shutting the lid - the hinges work well. We use it all the time.
