STRIKING WIDE SHANK CONTEMPORARY NATURAL RUBY AND BLACK OPAL STERLING SILVER RING. 925
This eye-catching piece is a tactile combination of sterling silver with 119 small round-cut natural dark pink rubies set in interlocking waves. Two 1,21 gram natural black opals are set within two semicircular areas of openwork, providing focal points both by the unusual and unexpected colour combination and the sheer scale of the opals, which are held above the surface of the ring by extra large claws. The rubies are all natural with lots of inclusions, giving a natural-mined feel to them. The gems have been gem-tested for authenticity. The very broad shank (19mm) narrows at the bottom for comfort and the ring sits snugly on the finger. A very heavy piece at 9,48 grams, it is bold and showy on the hand, and a rather unusual gemstone piece.
