BEAUTIFUL AMETHYST AND PEARL CLUSTER 9ct YELLOW GOLD RING. BIRMINGHAM ASSAY 1978
This beautiful and unusual piece of English jewellery features three round cut claw set amethyst gemstones and three round cabochon claw set natural pearls, surrounding a larger round pearl in the centre. Designed to emulate a flower, the ring head measures 11mm in diameter and has a 6.5mm rise above the finger. The contrast of the vibrant purple/violet amethysts and the delicate, smooth pearls set against the polished 9K yellow gold creates an elegant ring that is a little different to more classically designed jewellery. The jeweller has placed interesting straight gold mounted spacers between each alternating gemstone - accentuating each petal. It's a beautiful piece of vintage England that offers wonderful feminine appeal.
The ring bears the hallmarks '375' for 9ct gold, the Birmingham Assay stamp, the jeweller's signature and the date mark for 1978.
