Copy Number 33 of 50 de luxe copies
The total edition was limited to 750 numbered copies, of which copy numbers 1 to 50 were bound in the "de luxe" style. Both volumes in this set are No 33 of the de luxe 50 copies.
This two volume set is numbers 17 + 18 in the Africana Collectanea Reprint Series.
Original brown leather spines and corners with green title labels on the spines and gilt titling.
Volume 1 has 6 prelims, followed by a facsimile of the 1835 edition with x prelims, an amended list of illutrations, followed by 330 text pages, 6 black and white illustrations and a large folding map at the rear.
Volume two has 6 prelims followed by the facsimile with v prelim, 358 text pages, 16 index pages, and 8 black and white illustrations.
This same set in similar condition sold for $194 on Antiquarian Auctions.
