Jockeys of 1930. Framed full set of 50. Excellent condition. Issued by Ogden’s.

These cigarette cards are authentic and were issued with packs of cigarettes during the 1930s.

The set is guaranteed complete and in excellent condition and is fixed to the backing with a special adhesive which can be removed from the cards without ant detriment to the value of the set.

Cigarette cards were first introduced in the 1880s as stiffeners for crushable packs. At the start of the 20th century the major cigarette companies began to produce cards to promote their brands.  So intense was the competition between the companies, that in the 30s and 40s, each card cost more to produce than the cigarettes in the packet.
