Purnell's unsurpassed history of the Great War, in 128 parts and contained in 8 Volumes. Still regarded as one of the most complete reference material available, the series covers the First World War all the way through to its conclusion.
The magazine was notable for its use of multiple writers – many of them well-known military figures – from all relevant nationalities in order to present a rounded view of the subject material. This was combined with high-quality original artwork of the military hardware used, maps and numerous previously unseen photographs, some of them quite gruesome.
Binder covers showing shelfwear, rubbing, age and dust stained, silver lettering worn and rubbed. Metal holders in binder with light to moderate rust stains. Each individual Part or Booklet is in very good condition and in well preserved condition. Volume 5 binding has come loose, as per final image.
