Nils Severin Andersen was a South African visual artist who was born in 1897. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including ''Van Riebeeck's Dromedaris' approaching the Cape' sold at Strauss & Co., Johannesburg 'Auction of Important British, Continental and South African Paintings and Sculpture' in 2010 for $6,678. The artist died in 1972.
Nils Andersen was born in Drammen, Norway. He studied Art at Natal Tech Art School in Durban, under OJP Oxley and Alfred R Martin in 1928 and ceramics at Natal Tech Art School in 1938.
