The ELC Art and Craft Centre at Rorke's Drift was founded in 1963 by missionaries from Stockholm, Sweden, and is internationally recognised as a foremost training centre for rural artists in South Africa.

The Centre is famous for the weaving as well as ceramics workshops where Dinah Molefe was the principal female potter. This piece is made using a coil technique and is sculptural in context. It makes use of amasumpa in the decoration and is a glazed stoneware piece of historical significance.

Signed, numbered and dated, this magnificent Dinah Molefe work is a collector's piece and is in perfect condition.
