We are very proud to present this amazing Egg of an Aepyornis Maximus, or Elephant Bird !
An enormous egg reconstituted from large and small,    all authentic, Aepyornis eggshell fragments that are found in the southern sands of Madagascar.
The pieces are sorted, then bonded together, back to the original shape ; the finished item is quite solid. The egg is empty !
Of course, it is extremely difficult for the local finders to gather the complete set of all the original pieces.
But this particulary specimen was made mostly 85%of the same egg !

The fragments' varying colors are due to the changes in the ground environment where they were found and the age.
In comparison, an Aepyornis egg holds a volume 8 to 12 times greater than that of an ostrich ; and represents the equivalent of 170 hen's eggs !
Giant Egg of an Aepyornis Maximus, or Great Elephant Bird.
