This outstanding work, which includes over 50 illustrations, is an authentic and historical record of the Natal Railways. It covers the period from 1859 to present times(1951).

The author, eldest son of the late \"Ned\" Campbell, Station Master,Pietermaritzburg, 1894-1903, and Station Master. Durban. 1903-1912, is also an old Natal railwayman.

The history of Natal\'s railways is linked with the history of the Province, and it is fitting that facts concerning the early struggles and achievements of the old Natal Railway Company and the Natal Government Railways should be readily accesible and become more widely known.
