2006 Gold 1/4oz R2 Cradle of Human Kind - Heritage Series

As a teething investor, this coin is the perfect starter, as a collector, this coin may be just what you need to complete your Heritage collection at the best possible price. Normal price is R6,500.00

The Cradle of Humankind, in the Magaliesberg region of the Gauteng and North West provinces of South Africa, is home to the Sterkfontein caves which is one of the richest and most productive paleao-anthropological hominoid fossil sites in the world. It has yielded some of the most valuable and oldest evidence of the origins of humankind ever found, including the 2-million-year-old Mrs Ples, the first complete skull of the Australopithecus genus to be discovered by palaeontologists Dr Robert Broom and John Robinson. In 1997 Professor Ron Clarke excavated a full complete skeleton of an Australopithecus.
