Biofuels SA, a newly formed company in South Africa, is building a pilot/production facility in the Western Cape to produce algae biodiesel. The technology is purchased via licence from the USA and Europe and is being built locally. The project finance will be managed by Deloittes Cape Town. Seed funding of R150 000 is required to set up the business, as the major investment of R55 million is almost secured. A 6% share is available for the said seed funding.
