Corry Larson was born in 1961 on the West Rand in South Africa. She grew up in an artistic family and was very interested in art during her childhood. She went on to study to be a High School Art Teacher. A turn of events leads her to the insurance industry where she worked for the next 15 years.
During these years she attended evening art classes where she met Peter Millard, one of her teachers and one of South Africa’s known artists. This meeting and encouragement from Peter as Corry’s mentor and teacher lead her to painting full time in 1997. She works in oils, using a palette knife or brush.
She finds that the mediums plasticity and rich texture encourage daring and unexpected effects. Her work is sold worldwide.
