This beautiful, rare and unusual pewter quaich/ toasting vessel is in wonderful condition. The quaich measures 14cm across (handle to front) x 2,5cm high. A quaich is a special kind of shallow ceremonial drinking cup or bowl in Scotland. They were traditionally used in Scotland to offer guests a welcome or farewell drink. In more recent times, the Quaich has been used as a favour at many Scottish weddings, being presented to all at the top table as a symbol of shared love. There is age and usage related wear and tear and tarnishing, but is still a very usable as a small bowl or as part of a pewter display collection. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this wonderful quaich/ toasting vessel and to confirm the condition.
