A FANTASTIC THREE COIN SET TO COMMEMORATE THE MOVING OF THE STATUE OF PAUL KRUGER IN 1954. THE SET CONSISTS OF ONE GOLD COIN (STAMPED) 17.2 GRAMS, ONE SILVER COIN (STAMPED) 16.89 GRAMS, ONE BRONZE COIN 17.23 GRAMS. THESE SETS ARE VERY COLLECTABLE AND A GREAT INVESTMENT!!
FROM THE INTERNET: "To commemorate the unveiling of the Kruger Statue on Church Square, Pretoria, on 11 October 1954. The pieces were made by the SA Mint to the order of the Kruger genootskap, Pretoria, and distributed by Volkskas. The old ZAR coinage dies were adapted for this series. The full set sold for 7 Pounds and 10 Shillings. Separate Silver sold for 10 shillings and bronze for 2/6. Over the years many gold and silver pieces were melted, making undamaged sets scarce!"
